As a writer I get to bring forth my imagination, put it in a book and release it out into the world. The characters come to life, sometimes seemingly influencing their own paths within the stories, but ultimately I get to choose the words. Such as when I tell inquiring readers that there are no adult situations, or language, within the books because I want to them to be a reflection of my own values.
It’s why I’m excited about “The Light Bearers” trilogy. I listened to my internal prompting and took the opportunity to let my own faith bubble to the surface and put it on display as I explore the possibilities of end times with God’s chosen battling against the devil’s army.
By drawing on my own beliefs I was able to write about our characters navigating their own relationship with Jesus as they try to save humanity with help from the archangel Michael and his host of warrior angels. Troy Skog
